PNP Constructions Honoured with the Prestigious NSW Government Community Service Award
September 2024:
At PNP Constructions, we are proud to share a momentous occasion in our company’s journey. Our Co-Founder, Marcus Pavlakis, has been honoured with the NSW Government Community Service Award, a recognition that speaks to the heart of our mission: uplifting our community through compassionate and impactful work.
This award, presented by Mrs. Sally Quinnell, State Member for Camden and Member of the Australian Labor Party, is one of the highest recognitions of local community service. The award celebrates people who have made significant contributions to the quality of life in their communities.
This award is a validation of our philosophy built on service, advocacy, and transformation in the disability sector. Over the years, Marcus has worked tirelessly to ensure that people with disabilities live with dignity and independence, and that their homes are spaces of safety and comfort, but importantly, upheld in the highest quality of design.
His passion and energy for driving change in the quality of workmanship and design within the disability sector has underpinned the mission of PNP Constructions, driving us to create bespoke home modifications and Specialist Disability Accommodations (SDA) that go above and beyond conventional solutions and will be a game changer for the sector.
A Special Honour from Sally Quinnell
Receiving the award from Sally Quinnell, a respected leader and advocate for the Camden community, made the moment even more meaningful. Sally is dedicated to the Camden electorate, ensuring its community and businesses are noted, and has been a long-time supporter of PNP Constructions and has been deeply engaged with our work in the disability sector.
Sally’s recent visit to our new headquarters at The Hub was a moment of great pride for our entire team. During the award ceremony, she praised the impact that Marcus, Eva and the company have had on the community, particularly in providing accessible, life-changing home modifications and supporting other local businesses by collaborating for our projects nationally. We have been honoured by her mentioning us twice in NSW Parliament, with two Parliamentary Commendations within the last 12 months.
Reflecting on the award, Sally stated:
“This is the NSW Government saying that this is a company doing great work in an area that needs it, where people have felt left behind for so long.”
PNP Constructions: Building a Better Future for People with Disabilities
At PNP Constructions, we have made it our mission to improve the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities through high-quality home modifications and Specialist Disability Accommodation. Whether it’s minor or major modifications or large-scale residential projects, we always aim to create bespoke, safe, accessible, and functional spaces that enhance daily living, and removes visual discrimination.
This Community Service Award is a recognition not just of our technical expertise, but of the compassion that drives every project we undertake. Knowing that our efforts are making a difference in the lives of people across Camden, NSW, and nationally, is what inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the disability sector using modern building techniques.
National Recognition for Excellence
PNP Constructions is proud to be a local, family-run business that has gained recognition not only in our community but also nationally. We have won multiple awards in recognition of our tireless work, but none more important than peer recognition from peak industry bodies such as the HIA, competing across regions like the Hunter Region and Brisbane. Not only were we awarded the Bathroom Design of the Year 2023 in the HIA – CSR Awards in the Hunter Region, but we went on to compete in the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards 2024, competing at a national level as 1 of only 9 finalists in the Bathroom Design category, Australia wide. We recently were awarded the Bathroom Design of the Year at the 2024 Brisbane Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, which we now move forward into competing throughout Queensland.

Our award-winning designs have overcome the unique challenges posed by NDIS guidelines and AS 1428, restricted budgets that we still utilise to compete, and renovating existing properties, standing out even when compared with new builds by large national companies. Further demonstrating that the industry can change, which is our passion and drive. All bathrooms can be accessible and bespoke.
The PNP team are dedicated to make change, which has taken us across Australia due to the demand for our expertise and quality, and our unique benchmark that we set for ourselves for an outcome well beyond a client’s expectations, from South Australia to regional NSW and Brisbane, completing bathroom and home modifications that truly transform lives. Despite the complex regulatory landscape and logistical challenges, we have continued to deliver exceptional results for our partners. This level of commitment and innovation is why we’ve been recognised not just locally, but at a national level. As Marcus outlines, if he had to build an accessible bathroom on Mt Everest, he would take the challenge, find a solution and build an accessible bathroom on Mt Everest.
Looking to the Future: SDA B.O.O.T.S Project
While receiving the NSW Government Community Service Award is a significant milestone, our journey is just starting. We are excited about our upcoming SDA B.O.O.T.S program, which will be a game-changer in the disability sector.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We are deeply grateful to Sally Quinnell for her continued support and recognition of our work. This award is a testament to the entire PNP Constructions team, whose passion and dedication fuel every project. It’s through their hard work that we can continue making a positive impact on the lives of our clients and the community.
This recognition inspires us to push forward and continue building a more inclusive, supportive future for all. Thank you to Sally, our team, and the Camden community for believing in our mission. Together, we are creating homes where everyone can live with dignity, independence, and comfort.
