On the blog this month we’re showcasing one of our recent projects, a home modification that transformed one of our clients’ homes through increased space and inclusivity.

After a previously rejected decision on the prior design of their bathroom, the family of this participant reached out with the occupational therapist to discuss their situation with PNP Group. PNP got straight to work, working with our inhouse designers and experts to work on a functional and innovative redesign for reapplication.

“Marcus was very responsive, engaging and professional at all times, and it was a pleasure working with him and the PNP Team. Their quality and service far exceeded our expectations!”
Eleni – NDIS participant’s daughter

This redesign included the moving of access points to create a larger bathroom and entry layout, increasing space for the participant while maintaining compliance with the requirements of the NDIS and Australian Standards. These changes supported the long-term care of the participant and allowed the family home to become more functional.

For this NDIS home modification, our team completely transformed our client’s bathroom to accommodate their clinical needs. Not only has our team provided our client with a practical design to create ease of movement, but we have also increased the value of our client’s property. We achieved this by updating the interiors with modern finishes, fusing contemporary touches with the original character and timberwork of the home.

“A gorgeous space that looks homely and caters to the needs of my parents. Thank you so much you went above and beyond”
Sophia – Participant’s Daughter

After unforeseen challenges, our team of professional multi-trades managed to pull together their resources to complete this project in just over four weeks. Transparency and communication with the family and occupational therapist were paramount at this time, keeping everyone informed and included within the modifications.

Our team doubled the floor space of the bathroom which not only created a more practical entrance point but further enhanced the aesthetic of a more spacious bathroom. Our team then added new plumbing from the ground up along with new flooring, tiles, and re-sheeted and straightened all walls. In keeping with the character of the property, we were able to retain the characteristics of the property through reinstalling previous fixtures.

Every client has a different vision for their home, and PNP works to honour this vision, meeting it with quality, innovation, and style. This home meant a lot to the family, who were able to keep living in full accessibility and inclusivity within their family home.

“This is my first ever home and PNP made it so beautiful. It looks amazing and the build was done with no mess throughout the rest of the property where mum and dad were still living in. I highly recommend this team”

 Sophia, Participant’s Daughter
