And the Winner of the most outstanding Business Person of the Year 2025 is – Marcus Pavlakis !
Marcus Pavlakis Named Businessperson of the Year at the 2025 Camden Local Business Awards
The 2025 Camden Local Business Awards was a night to remember — a celebration of innovation, resilience, and the incredible spirit of our local business community. Held at the vibrant Wests Leagues Club in Leumeah, the evening brought together entrepreneurs, community leaders, and changemakers from across the region. Among the many highlights of the night, one moment stood out: Marcus Pavlakis being named Businessperson of the Year.
A Well-Deserved Honour
Marcus Pavlakis, a visionary entrepreneur and community advocate, was recognised for his outstanding leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment to making a difference. His journey began in the family business, Pav’s Allergy-Friendly Bakery, which in the late 1980s pioneered Australia’s first 100% rice-based gluten-free bread. That early exposure to innovation and purpose-driven business laid the foundation for what would become a remarkable career.
Today, Marcus is redefining what accessible housing can look like through his work in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
At the heart of Marcus’s work is a powerful belief: that every person, regardless of ability—deserves a beautifully crafted, thoughtfully designed home in a connected community. It’s a vision brought to life through the PNP Group’s design philosophy, which replaces clinical or institutional design with warmth, quality, and architectural excellence.
His pioneering SDA B.O.O.T.S™ program has become a standout innovation in the sector. SDA B.O.O.T.S™ (Building, Opportunities, Outcomes, Trust, Sustainability) flips the traditional housing model on its head by giving people with disability real choice -empowering them to decide where they live, how they live, and what their home looks and feels like. Through this program, participants are given a voice in the design process, shaping spaces that suit their lifestyle, preferences and needs – not just their diagnosis.
“People should never feel limited by labels or boxed in by systems,” Marcus says. “Our homes reflect who we are, and that includes people living with disabilities. SDA Housing can and should be a place where life, beauty and belonging come together.”
Under his leadership, the PNP Group has grown into a respected name in the industry, known not only for building high-quality infrastructure and home modifications, but also for pushing boundaries in social inclusion and community-building.
For Marcus, the Business Person of the Year award is more than a personal honour, it’s a chance to shine a light on what’s possible when vision meets compassion.
“It’s a privilege to be recognised by the Camden business community, but this award really belongs to the people we serve. They’re the reason we do what we do.”
A Leader with Heart and Vision
Marcus’s leadership is grounded in integrity, generosity, and courage. He’s not just building homes — he’s building a legacy. Whether it’s including complimentary home upgrades, advocating for clients navigating complex systems, or sponsoring local athletes and disability initiatives, Marcus consistently goes above and beyond.
This remarkable recognition is a testament to Marcus’ bold vision, relentless drive, and the values he lives by — courage, innovation, integrity, and expertise. His approach to building and construction challenges conventional thinking, proving that accessibility can be seamlessly integrated with luxury. For Marcus, it’s about designing with foresight, sharing knowledge generously, and creating solutions that break barriers. His work is rooted in thinking differently and leaving behind a legacy that elevates lives and reshapes the future.
Marcus lives by his words “Do what you say, deliver what you promise, and always strive to do better”
